Duke Behavioral Health Informatics Unveils Psychiatric “Wiki”
Raleigh, NC – April 30, 2007 – Duke University’s Behavioral Health Informatics Division, a leading developer of clinical information systems for Behavioral Healthcare, today unveiled the creation of a comprehensive, content-rich psychiatric “wiki.” The Duke MindLinc Psychiatric Wiki is a continually expanding, collaborative document, as are all Wiki’s, including the widely-known online encyclopedia, Wikipedia. Thus, users interactively reference, author, and edit information, all for the benefit of the cumulative pursuit of knowledge.
Mindlinc and Duke University have established the initial Psychiatric Wiki knowledge base with over 300 pages of information and will continue to access, monitor and contribute to the content. Coupled with the invaluable contributions of fellow psychiatric professionals, the goal is to create an unparalleled and up-to-date resource tool for all those within the behavioral health arena, incorporating a wide range of related documentation, including patient educational materials, training documents, journal articles, reviews and commentaries. An online help manual is also available to assist users in creating and editing appropriate content for the site.
